Winter Camp 2020
The program of DAS Winter Camp 2020 is now available!!!
We will gather all DAS Winter Camp students at Munich airport (MUC) on January 17th 2020. Here is the first meeting point for all the participants. After that, we will travel to our first destination – South Tyrol – by bus.
January 17-24th 2020
Our students will spend a week in Ahrntal, South Tyrol. Ahrntal is located on the Southern side of the Zillertal Alps. It is one of the most beautiful valleys in South Tyrol, with some eighty mountain peaks above 3000 metres. This makes for a dramatic landscape and excellent skiing territory. The Speikboden ski field will be our snowy playground for five days. There are 20 kilometres of ski slopes in total (2km blue, 12 km red, 6 km black), and seven ski lifts ensure that everyone arrives at the top of the mountain safe and sound.
All DAS Winter Camp participants will receive five days of professional skiing lessons in small groups twice per day. The morning lesson starts at 10:00AM after the breakfast. Our students are provided with skiing gear, including the compulsory safety helmet. Once equipped with the necessary skiing kit, we follow the call of the mountain and make our way up to the skiing slopes.
Students who already know how to ski, and whose parents have given their permission, will be able to ski relatively independently, with one of DAS Akademie’s staff providing the necessary supervision. Of course, DAS team is always at hand, and together with the skiing instructors we make sure everyone is safe.
After the morning skiing lesson, we will have lunch on the top of hill Speikboden. After lunchtime, students will join the second skiing lesson from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. When the lesson finishes, we will all travel to the hotel by bus. The students will then have some free time and dinner.
In the evening, our students enjoy our DAS Special event. The program helps our students learn and improve their language skills, enjoy their learning and have fun.
During the stay in South Tyrol, we will pay a visit to Bolzano, the capital of South Tyrol. Bolzano is located in the Southern part of the Alps. At the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, we will pay a visit to Ötzi – the Iceman. Ötzi lived some 5400 years ago. His body was found frozen in a glacier in 1991. What was initially thought to be the dead body of a missing hiker turned out to be one of the world’s most important and unique archaeological finds. Because Ötzi’s clothes and equipment had survived the ages largely intact. Following on, we will have time to marvel at Bolzano’s sights and to go shopping.
January 24-28th 2020
On January 25th , we will travel to Munich by bus and DAS Winter camp students will have free time upon arrival. From January 26th to 29th, we will spend our last days in Munich. Munich is the capital of the German federal state of Bavaria. With a population of 1.35 million, it is Germany’s third largest city. Munich is world famous for its beer, the Oktoberfest and “Weißwürste mit Brez’n” (white sausages and pretzel). Here we will have time to visit some of the city’s best-loved sights, such as the German History Museum or BMW World. There will also be time for some last-minute souvenir shopping. No DAS Language Camp would be complete without a proper farewell party! Our last night in Munich is dedicated to a fantastic farewell celebration, where we will dance, sing and laugh together. Of course, every participant will receive their Certificate of Participation.
